This song forms the third movement of Choral Symphony No. 4 especially composed for the International Staff Songsters. It speaks of when Christ is praying alone in the garden of Gethsemane, ‘Not my will but your will be done. For if this cup should come my way the victory is won’. The ‘cup’ represents the situation Christ finds himself and that situation being the impending crucifixion. This is a most poignant moment in the timeline of Christ’s time on earth and this musical representation should be presented with utmost sensitivity and reverence.
