Words: Ivy Mawby
Music: Norman Beacroft
Ivy Mawby is a long serving Salvation Army officer who worked in the editorial department for the SA and wrote a number of songs herself. Norman Bearcroft's fine trilogy Reflections was recorded by The King's Singers, becoming the eponymous track of Volume Two of their Choral Essays project in 2008. They combined back in the sixties to produce this upbeat carol, arranged in three verses with a chorus which imitates the "ding dong" of a carillon. The verses are taken by two trios - SSA answered by TTB, accompanied by a florid piano part.
